These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Expenzee (the "Service"), provided by Expenzee ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using Expenzee, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Account and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering.
2. Use of the app
Expenzee is provided for personal, non-commercial use to track expenses, split bills with friends, and view personalized insights. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app or its API.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Free tier (₹0): unlimited personal expense tracking, 3 active trips you own (5 members each), 30 AI messages/month, 20 web searches/month, 120 smart categorizations/month, 30-day analytics, on-device receipt OCR, multi-currency, and bill splitting via UPI.
- Plus (₹199/month or ₹1,999/year — save ₹389): unlimited trips (15 members each), 300 AI messages/month, 120 web searches/month, 1,000 smart categorizations/month, 1-year analytics, weekly CSV export, AI product recommendations & deals.
- Pro (₹399/month, ₹3,999/year — save ₹789, or ₹4,999 lifetime): unlimited trips (30 members each), 1,200 AI messages/month, 400 web searches/month, 4,000 smart categorizations/month, unlimited analytics, daily CSV export, priority support, early feature access.
- Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS) via RevenueCat. We do not bill you directly. The web app cannot process purchases — open the mobile app to subscribe.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
- Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) and inclusive of applicable taxes where required.
4. Refund policy
- Annual subscriptions: 48-hour refund window from purchase, processed via Google Play Store.
- Monthly subscriptions: No refunds for partial months. Cancel to stop future renewals.
- Lifetime purchases: Non-refundable after 14 days from purchase.
- For Play Store refund issues, contact atanub707@gmail.com with your order ID — we will help facilitate.
5. Cancelling your subscription
To cancel:
- Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Expenzee → Cancel.
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Expenzee → Cancel.
- You retain access until the end of your current billing period.
- Cancelling does not delete your account. To delete your account and all data, follow How to use — Delete account & data (see also Privacy Policy).
6. AI features
AI Chat Assistant, AI insights, smart categorization, and AI product recommendations are powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash. AI responses are generated by a third-party model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on AI output for legal, tax, financial, medical, or investment advice. Always verify critical information independently.
AI usage is metered per tier — AI messages (Free 30/mo · Plus 300/mo · Pro 1,200/mo), web searches (Free 20/mo · Plus 120/mo · Pro 400/mo), and smart categorizations (Free 120/mo · Plus 1,000/mo · Pro 4,000/mo). Excessive abuse, prompt injection, or attempts to extract restricted content may result in suspension.
7. Deals and affiliate links
Expenzee participates in EarnKaro and Amazon Associates affiliate programs. When you click a deal or product link in the app, we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Pricing, availability, and offers are controlled by the merchant — not by Expenzee. We are not responsible for product quality, delivery, returns, or merchant disputes.
8. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal activities, money laundering, or fraud.
- Attempt to bypass subscription limits or share Plus/Pro accounts with multiple people.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code or AI prompts.
- Scrape, automate, or abuse the API beyond reasonable individual use.
- Upload malware, harmful content, or infringe on others' intellectual property.
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or impersonate others.
9. Your data and content
You retain ownership of your expense data, receipts, and content you create in Expenzee. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your data solely to provide the Service to you. See our Privacy Policy for details.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the Service.
- Accuracy of AI-generated insights, recommendations, or price comparisons.
- Availability of any specific feature, tier, or merchant deal indefinitely.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Expenzee, its founders, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of profits, data, or savings — arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹500, whichever is greater.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in abuse, fraud, or behaviour harmful to other users. You may stop using the Service at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account in-app.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in-app or via email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
